What Will I Do?

This online thing is tough. So much time is spent posting stories, correcting photos, and messing with the Internet, I barely have time to write stories. And I miss that.

Writing stories is fun. The stress of a deadline. The nervous awkward interviews. The running back for one question. But being active on therideronline.com keeps me to the point where I write less, not more. I keep getting yelled at frequently by Mallett and others asking where the stories I’m supposed to write have disappeared to. Then later I am yelled at for falling behind on what I should have posted.

This is not a pity party story, it’s more of a try to understand why I’m late story. I’m human story. I have a job, I have a strange life, and I’m just trying to prepare for college. On top of that I have to handle all the excuses people give me for not getting their stories in. I have to edit all the ones I’m given. I have to post them. And somewhere in there I have to write my own.

This is all expected in your senior year, things are turned upside down, and launching this online paper has been a constant constraint on what I can and can’t do. Trying to find a balance is tougher than it sounds and it seems like most of my free time comes at ten or eleven when I finally get to sleep. So if a story is late, or it takes a while to post on here, understand I’m probably just trying to get my affairs in order. And keep watching therideronline, you just might see a story I wrote.

I’m sorry Will, I’m sure that everything will end up just fine. Just keep thinking that it’s your senior year, it’s supposed to be stressful but don’t let all that stress keep you from having fun and thinking about homecoming and prom and friday night football games. Just remember to keep that stuff in the back of your mind when you get stressed out, it’s helping me at least.
