Doctor Strange was released by Marvel Entertainment on November 4

Going into Doctor Strange, I was very skeptical if Marvel could pull off a proper movie adaptation. This was because of the powers of the characters in the Doctor Strange comic series.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The movie’s CGI was breathtaking and seemed so real. The locations that were portrayed in the movie didn’t look fake, and it felt as if the characters were actually in London, Nepal, New York or even Hong Kong.

In addition to the atmosphere, the movie didn’t feel like a traditional superhero movie. It felt more like a character arc of main character Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, going from a selfish surgeon from New York to the Sorcerer Supreme.

As a fan of the Marvel comics and movies, I had extremely high expectations for the movie in terms of plot but even those expectations were exceeded. There was a feel of anticipation throughout the movie as well as light comedy to lighten the mood. Of course like with almost every other superhero movie, there was a “mini romance” between Strange and his colleague Christine Palmer, played by Rachel McAdams.

Along with the storytelling, the movie explored the multiverse theory. The theory basically states multiple universes rather exist rather than just one. The characters can even travel into dimensions and a realm “beyond time,” thus widening the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

All in all, I’d say it might be the best superhero movie centralized on one character ever and recommend others to see it.

9.5/10

My name is Khalid Ahmed, and I'm a sophomore. I'm 15 years old and in newspaper. I was born with a heart condition known as truncus arteriosus. I've gone through five surgeries. Four of them were open heart, and the most recent one was through catheterization. I'm really big sports fan, too! I'm a Mavs Fan For Life, a Cowboy fan, Rangers fan, Stars fan, and an FC Dallas fan! One thing that most people don't know about me when they first meet me is that I'm a Muslim, and I'm proud to be one! Growing up, I was always teased about my religion and used that to mold who I am today. I want to prove to the world that Muslims aren't what mainstream media portrays them to be. Another big thing about me is that I'm arguably the biggest Dragon Ball Z fan that you might ever meet! I love watching it! It taught me to never give up and to break through my limits! Also, I love to watch/read romance stories which, I admit, isn't really what most guys my age are into, but, hey, that's who I am, and I'm proud of it!
