Senior Terrica Franklin is a presentation of the Girls’ basketball program. Franklin, who started on varsity as a sophomore when Legacy first opened, is in her final season.

After a first season of struggles, the Broncos came together in their second varsity season and qualified for the playoffs, with a 26-9 record.

“We came together as a team. We started to share the ball and give a full team effort, then no one cared who received credit on the court and we started to sell out for each other,” Franklin said.

Also, a position change made Franklin improve her focus on her performance.

“I had to step up and play a role that I haven’t played in a long time. I had to get in shape. I was constantly moving, I had to become more aware of my options on the court,” Franklin said.

Franklin’s favorite memory of her time on the team was when she and her teammates gave back to the community by starting Bronco Club.

“In Bronco Club, we teach kids how to get better with their basketball skills and how to interact with each other,” Franklin said.

With Franklin’s high school career coming to a close, college scouts are looking to add her to their team. However, she doesn’t want to play in college.

“I’m not tired of playing, it’s not something I want to do. I want to focus on my studies,” Franklin said.

Furthermore, Franklin feels that the last two seasons have allowed her to perform better on the court.

“I have improved both physically and mentally. I’ve also matured and I began to start working harder and harder,” Franklin said.
