I have heard that shack and davis are both great teachers and i think this is hilarious that they would pull these pranks on each other like this!! I have Mr. Austin for Pre-AP W. Geo. and he is awsome he nows when to stop messin’ around and work but when we have every thing done he knows how to make us laugh and i find that with alot of teachers here at LHS!!! Thank you Legacy!:)

Mrs. Shack is a great teacher, and from what I hear – So is Mr. Davis. Having teachers that outwardly show how much they enjoy doing their job is always a great motivation to students.

And for the record, whoever put Mallett’s stapler in jelly is my new hero. The BBC Office rules!

I have had both Mrs. Shack and Mr. Davis. I had Mrs. Shack my freshman year and I got high grades in your class, but she is a tough teacher. Not in the usual meaning of the word, but she does not give good grades away, you have to earn them. She was my favorite teacher then and she is still one of my favorites. She makes the learning environment more fun. Most teachers can’t or won’t do that. Mrs. Shack makes learning more fun, rather than annoying to come to school. Mr. Davis, I had last year. Physics is not my strong point at all. I had problems in Physics the whole year. I enjoyed going to the class though because he was a really good teacher. I passed the class so I don’t have him this year. But he is a great teacher too. He gave plenty of one on one help. He is great. They are both amazing teachers.

“Parent” – please go back and read Mr. Davis’ 3 rules.
These teachers are not goofing off and wasting time. I can appreciate the teachers who know when to have fun and when to buckle down and get to work. Their students can sense quickly when it’s serious study time. My daughter has had both of these teachers and they have challenged her. Legacy (as well as MISD) is fortunate to be able to choose teachers from a pool of quality teachers. Their energy and interaction with the students should never be stifled. I’d guess that over 95% of parents would disagree that the actions of these teachers are a “disgrace to the district”. In fact the parents I know welcome a learning environment where teachers are tough as nails when it is time for work and can have some fun when it’s time to play.

Our daughter had Mr. Davis for Physics last year. We found him to be tough but fair, someone who obviously enjoyed teaching. He made the subject interesting for the students. Did “parent” read the entire story? Mr. Davis make sit clear that the pranks will cause no harm, and won’t interrupt Mrs. Shackelford’s teaching. It’s unrealistic to expect teachers to be serious all the time. They need to be serious in the classroom, but outside of class, they’re entitled to a little fun.

As an involved parent in the MISD for the past 12 years I can honestly say that knowing that my kids’ teachers, including Mrs. Shackelford and Mr. Davis, are enjoying their time spent with their co-workers and their students would hardly be something I would consider an embarrassment to the district. Of my two kids at Legacy , one has been lucky enough to have both of these two teachers; one of them for the past two years. Their dedication and involvement with their students doesn’t just begin and end in the classroom. I have considered that an attribute, not a detriment to my child’s education. Thanks for all you do for the Legacy students!

Shack and Davis are great teachers for the district. It’s comforting to know that I’m being taught by real people that make the learning environment more fun, and not robots. Not only are they fun, but they really help me learn. As the editor of the newspaper, I just wanted to show everyone at Legacy how much fun we have learning. That’s why this story was assigned. I’m sorry a parent has a negative view of these two teachers.

*sigh* it was awesome bringing in the little dots from the hole punch…im excited for the next prank…but they need to hurry time is running short till graduation then ill miss all the fun lol
