New Businesses Open in Mansfield

New Businesses Open in Mansfield

In 2000, Mansfield’s population had a population of 28,031. Census data from City-data.com shows by 2012 Mansfield’s population reached 59,317 or a 111.6 percent increase. With the local population boom, businesses open in Mansfield with hopes of taking advantage of the economic growth. With the recent addition of Mansfield Paintball down FM 1187 and In-N-Out Burger off US 287, other businesses begin to break ground.

According to mansfield.legistar.com, the city council has approved Mellow Mushroom, a popular pizza shop in Arlington, to begin construction in downtown Mansfield at the intersection of Main and Broad Street where the Station House currently sits.

New businesses lead to more employment opportunities for students. With job positions available, businesses are willing to hire. With organizations, such as football, volleyball and band ending their seasons in the fall, students will now have time to work.

“As a band student, I can’t work from August to November,” junior Carter Poe said. “It’s great to hear about all of the new businesses coming to Mansfield because it’ll be easier to find somewhere to work once marching season ends.”

Senior Caleb Jones applied at Mansfield Paintball on its opening weekend.

“It’s much easier to get a job when it’s a new business,” Jones said, “I would highly suggest applying at a new business.”

Other Openings
Rosa’s Cafe and Tortilla Factory – A restaurant famous for its Taco Tuesdays, where one can buy three tacos, beef or chicken, crispy or soft, plus rice and beans for only $3.69 every Tuesday, has recently began construction at the intersection of Broad and Matlock, across from Mansfield Methodist Hospital.

Sam’s Club – Opened October 24th at the intersection of Cooper and Debbie Lane, next to Sonic.

Urban Air Trampoline Park – Currently remodeling a building next to Big Lots off of Walnut Creek Drive, Urban Air is a recreational park where people jump on trampolines, play dodgeball and workout. Doors are projected to open in early November.

Einstein Bros Bagels – Einstein Bros. Bagels, a sandwich, coffee and sweets shop, plans to remodel the Wienerschnitzel off of 287, next to Starbucks.

Hey everyone, my name is Mason and I'm excited to be joining the newspaper team this year. I'll start by saying band is life. On top of being in Journalism, I am also the band president for this year. I play on the drumline and I've been in band for 6 years. I have five dogs named Cowboy, Witten, Chico, Trigger, and Cowboy. Yes, you read that right. I have two dogs named Cowboy. Weird, eh? I am also a huge sports fan, but I only support our local teams like the Stars, Cowboys, Rangers, etc. However, I have yet to jump on the soccer bandwaggon. My favorite word is tintinnabulation. I have an undying obsession with Dr. Pepper and original Pringles. [email protected]
