Julianna Di Napoli – Editor-In-Chief

So…Editor-In-Chief, The Big Cheese, Head Hancho, whatever. I think that basically means that I have no life. For the majority of the summer I have been working on all things Newspaper. Assigning stories, editing stories and sending out harassing staff texts were the means of my summer. However, I don’t mind. I love that Newspaper is my life and would prefer it over anything else. The staff and I have worked and continue to work very hard to make The Rider Online even more awesome.
Not much has changed about me. I still have tiny tiny hands, I still love to write and tell people’s stories and I still like to think that I’m pretty awesome. My title is the only thing that has changed about me. I remember my first year of Newspaper, Greg Uribe said “Die-napoli, you’re Editor-In-Chief material,” and I went with that. Being EIC has been my goal since the beginning and after achieving that, I am only motivated to work harder for this publication.
Now, I don’t want to bore you by going on and on about how honored I am to be EIC, so I’ll wrap this up. I am very excited to see all of the amazing stories that this staff has to tell, published. This is a talented bunch and I’d love nothing more than to hear your feedback.

Amanda Granato – Assistant Editor

I enjoy reading, and music, and long walks on the beac… Oh, wait. This isn’t my online dating profile. Whoops.
Despite that I tend to write excessively (and in long, flowy, wordy sentences that Mallett calls ‘girly’ and which drive him crazy), I really can’t think of anything to put here that anyone would be vaguely interested in.
Perhaps I should tell you- you being a hypothetical person who actually cares about this- that I’m a junior. I spend most of my time, when not working on this publication or in school, buying antiques, watching old black and white movies, and listening to oldies music with my friends. Yeah, we’re actually really old people, and I’m somewhat surprised they still let us go to this school. Maybe it’s because we watch Disney movies and sing along to all the songs, so we even out, kinda.
Anyway, I’m this year’s Assistant/Copy Editor, complete with capital letters and everything. It’s my first year as an editor, and I really believe that between the esteemed Julianna DiNapoli and the wonderful and lovely Megan Henry (the Editor-in-Chief and the Features editor, respectively) and myself, we can make this program better than its ever been, and I know for a fact we’ll have fun doing it.

Megan Henry – Feature Editor

Editor year two; with lots of work to do.
I could take this time make this bio about myself; But here’s a few people who need a a new trophy from me on their shelf.
There’s Madison Mondon who’s super funny; well of course, that’s because she’s my ‘honeybunny’.
And Josh and Nick who put on quite a show; Especially now with their new friends Andy, Madison and Joe.
Amanda and myself are the dynamic duo; it’s hard to imagine we only met a year ago.
Now to save the best for last; with Carson and Brittany it’s always a blast.
So many staffers to name, and frankly I do not have the time; The least I could do was make this rap rhyme.
If I missed you, I’m sorry. You’re important to me; Just know you are awesome, as cool as can be.

Kymber Cullum – News Editor

Hey, Legacy! My name’s Kymber, I’m a senior and I’m the new News Editor of therideronline. I enjoy long walks on the beach and in my free time I love to read romance novels. Just kidding about the romance novel part. In my spare time and on weekends I like to hang out with my buddies. We watch movies and play video games (I know, it’s a pretty rebellious lifestyle) life on the edge. If I’m not with my friends I’m with my family. I was born lazy but definitely know how to work. I enjoy doing community service and helping people when they need it. I’m happy when others are happy. I tell things straight and hardly ever hold back my opinion. California is my true home, but here in Mansfield I’ve found a second. I love my Newspaper family very much and would do anything for any of them.

Nick Gross – Sports Editor

Hi. My name is Nick Gross if you couldn’t tell that. I’m the new Sports Editor this year. I love to listen to country music. It is my favorite genre of music. My favorite bands right now are The Zac Brown Band, Thompson Square, Brooks and Dunn (even though they broke up) and The Band Perry. I wanted to sit here and type up something funny to make people laugh when they read this, but that isn’t working too well right now. I work at the Texas Rangers Ballpark as a parking attendant.  I hate being out there because it is always over 100 degrees. The lot that I work in doesn’t have any trees so I usually get sunburns on my neck and the back of my legs. In my spare time I like to read, write, cook, draw and hang out with my buddies.  Speaking of buddies, my best buddy is Kymber Cullum. When we hang out we eat pizza and play video games all night long. I was born to work, but definitely know how to be lazy. I love my hair. I don’t go anywhere without my gel. If I didn’t have my gel I would have normal people hair, like Madison Mondon. That’s it pretty much. Bye for now.

Josh Perry – Entertainment Editor

Here I am, entering my second year as Entertainment Editor.  No relations to Rick, Katy, or the beloved platypus so please, don’t ask me. I like music, video games, movies, television and just about anything else deemed entertainment worthy. I like Taco Bell. It’s irrelevant but get over it. Recently I have spent many hours on Red Dead Redemption, Mortal Kombat, Elder Scrolls IV, and Minecraft. If you’re a gamer I’ve probably played your game before, or at least I’ve heard of it. Music wise I’m open to anything but country, rap, jazz and classical. If you fall into that category, trust me, I’ve tried listening to it all and those just aren’t my favorites. I love comedy. I will watch any comedy show I can get my hands on, except the Office. A few favorite shows are Wilfred, Archer, Supernatural and Ugly Americans. With movies, give me any Horror, Comedy or Action movie and it’s a good day.

Nick Failor – Business Manager

I’ve begun to realize that throughout my years in high school, surprising things occur  around me, whether good or bad. Since this is my last year, I vowed to make it worthwhile and purposely throw surprises my way, and push myself beyond my closely-knit boundary. Fresh Friday? I’m doing it. Sexy Tuesday? Still an option. Don’t know what it is? Find it at therideronline.com. Now. In any case, it should be a good year as a whole, and I hope that this is my best. I’ll just throw myself into the wind and see what happens

Victoria Harkrider – Public Relations Director

My name is Victoria Harkrider! I love Victoria’s Secret and the color pink in general! I love the store and I want one in Mansfield. I love Firebirds too, they are my favorite cars. If I could have my dream car, it would be a black 2001 Firebird Trans Am. I am Captain of Bronco Brigade, Public Relations Director for Legacy Student Media, I write for the Newspaper, design for the Yearbook, take AP classes and love every bit of it, including the challenges. I am really peppy and loud and like to have fun. I’m a gamer, PS3 ONLY! My Boo Bear is Madison Mondon, her and Chase Callaway are my best friends, there are some others too, but not as important. When I get out of high school I want to go to UNT for journalism or something like it. I’m a total journalism NERD! When I grow up I want to be, in order; a Victoria’s Secret Model, a Executive Producer, video game journalist, or a CIA agent. I’m still trying to make it work out to where I cant be a VS model and write for a gaming magazine too. I could work out while testing out video games! …it WILL work… eventually. I’m really social, NOT SHY, and love to meet new people. Say hi if you see me around school!

Carson Rahrig – Personalities Editor

Hi my name is Carson Rahrig. I am the Personalities Editor for therideronline. I am a pretty crazy person. I talk way too much and annoy everyone, but I guess my friends don’t mind! I laugh at pretty much anything anyone says or does. I am the person that laughs when I get in trouble (my parents are not really a fan of that). I always have a piece of gum handy, I am seriously addicted. On top of being apart of the Newspaper Staff I am a competitive dancer. Dancing has taken up every free second of my life since I was three, and I would not have it any other way. I am really looking forward to what this year brings me. I am hoping for the best and expecting the best.

Madison Davis – Staff Writer

Hello, I’m Madison Davis. I am a 6’4 senior and pretty much the best thing to ever grace the face of planet Earth (and when I say ever, I mean ever). This is my first year on the newspaper staff and first year being involved with journalism. I enjoy Doctor Who, Top Gear, and most things British (or English, whichever is more politically correct). I also play World of Warcraft and spend a great deal of my time either sleeping or on Facebook.

Andy Heuer – Staff Writer

My name is Andy.  I’m a senior, and this is my first year in Newspaper.  Being a senior without any extracurriculars, I decided I might as well find one. I don’t regret choosing Newspaper. I’m fairly uninteresting compared to my peers.  I play guitar, but then again, who doesn’t these days?  I’m by no means a virtuoso, but I’m good enough for me.  That’s about it for me. Like I said, I’m pretty uninteresting.  Here’s to hoping my last year will be my best.

John Hoang – Staff Writer

Hi I’m John, I’ll be a junior and this is my first year in Newspaper. I’m socially awkward and I don’t know what to say about myself. I enjoy listening to music that makes me feel happy like Bob Marley and the Wailers. I’m obsessed with Bob Marley’s music, his songs describe who I am as a person and I could listen to his music all day, everyday. Bob Marley is my biggest inspiration in life and got me into music. The best thing about music for me is when I listen to it, I feel at peace and free from the troubles of the world. Listening to music can be a spiritual experience for me and I believe music has the power to change the way people feel, think and even how they treat each other. Music is universal since anyone can listen to it and even if you don’t understand the words, maybe you can understand the emotions. I know I didn’t really say much about myself and if you did read the whole thing I’ll be kinda surprised. If you ever meet me you may think that I’m weird and awkward, but I’m a nice guy and I try to help out others when I can.

Zach Hutchison – Staff Writer

Hey! I’m Zach. My purpose in this place is to write awesome stories for therideronline (then again that is the purpose of all of us here in Newspaper.) I like to listen to most kinds of music but I am very opinionated. I play Xbox, an insanely nerdy amount, mostly Call of Duty (not Black Ops) and Gears of War. I BMX from time to time and always want to learn new tricks. I’m also learning to play the drums (it’s harder than you think). That’s what I do when I’m not at school. At school I like math and I hate english class (which is weird since I’m in a class that requires writing). I’m a junior but a lot of people ask me if I’m a senior because I am friends with mostly seniors. Soooo that’s me in summary. I hope this is a good year.

Jessica Jones – Staff Writer

I’m a senior finally, and a top-notch one at that. You know the Snapple bill-boards? I’m more amazing than their “Top-notch” tea, which really isn’t that good. I love the Doors! My favorite band, Jim Morrison is amazing, the lyrics by themselves are amazing, and he is just the best of the best…in my opinion. I love colors and really don’t know how to match. I’m awful at typing and computer related stuff….I suck at technology. The only things I do on the computer is Facebook, Bubbleshooter, Tetris, Memebase, and occasionally something actually productive. I love music and finish peoples sentences with lyrics which can be awkward if they don’t know the song, or me. Yes I am crazy and amazing…and socially awkward. I am kitty deprived…I need a cat! My stuff animal is not sufficient. I love to take pictures of my friends, they are not very good. I always take pictures when no one is looking because they are more natural. I take a lot of pictures and put them in photo albums. Senior memory book should be easy. This is my second year of Newspaper and my last, I think it will be fantastic.

Joe Kinler – Staff Writer

I am Joseph Kinler, a senior, and this is my first and only year in Newspaper. I’m very intellectual and determined, which is why I decided to join Newspaper and Theatre this year. I tend to be sarcastic, and sometimes critical, but I’m never against joking around and having fun when I get the chance. I plan to make this year a good one, to do what I want and enjoy every minute of it. In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, games, listening to music, or just hanging out. I don’t have a very good threshold for patience, but I try to be open-minded as possible. I like to try and be expressive when I can manage it, and I also tend to spout out random thoughts when I don’t know what else to say. Anyway, I am smart, analytical and determined, and I hope this year in high school can be the best that I’ve ever had.

Madison Mondon – Staff Writer

I’m super fly; that ain’t no lie.
Yeah!
Nick Gross is such a drag; and his brain has a lag.
What up.
I really don’t know what to type; I’m super hype.
I know I cant really rap; I would rather take naps.
I just need to mention a couple of friends; I guess this is the latest trend.
Chase Callaway is my bro; I like to play Mario; and I’m super duper pro.
The coolest person ever is Carson; she’s so hot she’s verging on arson.
You want to know who has such awesome hair? Victoria Harkrider, my boo bear.
Megan is super rad; she is the raddest friend I ever had.
I know you want me to keep dropping theses rhymes, but I’m just running out of time.
I don’t know what else to say, so have a good day.

Brittany Musser – Staff Writer

Entering my senior year of high school means entering my second year of newspaper. Being on staff has not been anything like I expected, but an adventure nonetheless. Over the past year I have seen top editors walk around with empty boxes on their head on multiples occasions for no apparent reason, found someone who is equally in love with Conan O’ Brien as myself, and met a group of people who have become my school family. The work can be taxing at times, but I’m lucky enough to have a best friend willing to help me whenever I’m in need. Newspaper has been a fantastic experience so far, and I expect nothing less from my final year.

Megan Rathbun – Staff Writer

This is my first time writing one of these, so here goes nothing. This is my first year on newspaper, I’m fairly excited about it because Mallett is pretty awesome. My goal for the year is to become a super Newspaper student person. Also, to stop creeping on people… Actually it can now be called stalking with purpose because I’m on the Newspaper Staff. So scratch that last goal. I don’t really think many people read this unless they are in Newspaper and they forget the name of that one kid in their class so they go look it up online and search for the handy staff photo. If that is the case and that is why this is being read, yeah I’m that one kid. If not, time could be better spent reading actual articles on therideronline and stop creeping on people even though I did the same thing last year. Since few people will probably read this, purple, triangle, square, fifteen, yellow. Only the people I know will understand that.

Angelica Vasquez – Staff Writer

My name is Angelica. I’m a junior here at Legacy. Well I have to go here cause I’m in newspaper. Duh. I have been in newspaper for about three days so far. Its been really great. My favorite hobby is cooking. Cooking not baking. I use to want to become a chef but I don’t know cause its actually a very tough profession to get into. But ever since eighth grade I’ve always been interested in becoming a nurse. I absolutely love any Marvel movies. I watch any Marvel Movie as soon as they come out in theaters. I went to go to see Captain America. It was freaking amazing. I seriously can’t wait till the Avengers come out next summer. Well I guess that’s all I have to say about myself.

Jesse Wright – Staff Writer

And so my second year of newspaper begins. Like last year, I have my worries, partly because of the work, mainly because of the people. Some of them are a little off, but even so, I’m excited about the year before me and plan on meeting it with all I’ve got. I can’t be sure of how the year will turn out, but I hope the outcome will be as good as last year’s. I’m looking forward to the year and the experiences it will bring.

Dini Wyatt – Staff Writer

I am Dini (pronounced Dinny) most people get it wrong the first time so don’t feel bad. This is my second year to be on staff. Theatre is my life, I am in love with it. My dream is one day to be on Broadway. I am Vice President of the Drama Club and can’t wait to get working on another production. Theatre is not just a club, its my family, newspaper is also like a family. Other than theatre I enjoy reading. I am probably the biggest Harry Potter nerd ever, like no joke I even dressed up for the premiere. You can ask me any question about it and I will have an answer. I am so glad to be back for another great year on staff.

Brenda Moreno – Photo Editor

Greetings, earthlings. I know I seem strange. I know I look like a stalker. I know I make a copious amount of odd faces. I know crouching down and standing on chairs isn’t exactly what you would refer to as the “norm”. Truth is, although I know being a photographer means being “that kid with the camera”, I’ve never fallen in love with anything else so quickly. In my time, I’ve learned to take the “Oh no’s,” “NO! I look so bad today!” Oh, and I can’t forget the “NO! PLEASE DON’T’s” that make me seem like a murderer… In the end, I’m just a simple gal with her camera hoping to capture loads of timeless memories, with a passion that she hopes to pursue for the rest of her life.
