Stephanie Quintanilla entered the Legacy gym to four teenage boys dancing to Single Ladies. She was there to attend Fish Camp, where Student Council performed a series of sketches to entertain and inform incoming freshmen.

“I am expecting to learn a lot and have fun at the same time. My brother came here and he liked it a lot,” freshman Stephanie Quintanilla said.

Soon after the performance, parents exited the gym to go to the Performing Arts Center for a meeting.

“I went to a smaller school,” parent Donna Craig said, “so this is much more intense.”

After the parents had gone, the freshman split into groups to tour the school to familiarize themselves with the layout of the campus.

“I found out that this school is much bigger than I originally thought,” freshman Jeremy Watson said.

Later, once the tour was over and the freshman caught their breath from the stairs, they headed toward the cafeteria where parents and students wandered from booth to booth to learn of the clubs and organizations Legacy offers.

“I want my child to get involved,” parent Stacy Jeffery said.

The students then mingled in the cafeteria, reuniting with friends they had missed over the summer, some declaring pride in their new school.

“I learned that Legacy is a really good choice for me,” freshman Kiela Cooper said.
