Ms. Gina Chianese appeared on WFAA’s Workout Wednesday segment exercising with her Kangoo shoes on.

WFAA news anchor Ron Corning waited for the “Workout Wednesday” segment to start as he stood in front of several other women wearing a pair of unusual looking shoes. Staring into a live camera, restaurant management and lifetime nutrition and wellness teacher, Ms. Gina Chianese, stood behind him smiling and maintaining her balance with the shoes. As Corning introduced the segment, the ladies showed off their Kangoo Jumps by performing various exercises.

“It was more work than I thought,” Ms. Chianese said. “We were there at the studio for a while, but it was fun.”

Ms. Chianese attends Kangoo Jumps instructor Toye Releford’s class regularly to work out. When Releford asked Ms. Chianese to join her on WFAA, she gladly accepted the invitation to perform the bouncing exercises in the background.

“The class is awesome,” Ms. Chianese said. “Jumping around to the music with the Kangoo shoes is a ton of fun and a great way to burn calories and exercise.”

Kangoo Jumps have a special spring-loaded sole, which allows the user to bounce, acting like miniature trampolines for your feet. The shoes have an 80% reduction on knee and joint impact when exercising, helping those with bad knees. The Kangoo Jumps workout has been proven to be more effective than even running, burning approximately 1000 calories per hour compared to 557 calories from running.

“At first, it is a challenge to balance with the shoes, but you get used to it and with experience and practice, they become very user-friendly,” Ms. Chianese said. “I definitely would recommend them to anyone.”
