The recently premiered show 13 Reasons Why has caused a few outbreaks on social media. Some really connect to the main character Hannah Beck and her struggle against depression. However, some argue the show over dramatizes Hannah’s struggle. Memes have started to surface Twitter in relation to how Hannah creates a tape every time a bad “thing” occurs in her life. The show, overall, is targeted toward people who suffer depression and suicidal thoughts and should not be the butt of a joke. It’s a serious issue that over a million people struggle with daily, so let’s leave the jokes at the door.
