Junior Kristi Denton enjoys the wind in her hair as she speeds through the wide open field, leaving a trail of tire marks behind her. She dedicates her weekends to the green Yamaha four wheeler at her dad’s house.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I like to ride four wheelers and go to the lake.”

What is your favorite thing about riding four wheelers and how long have you rode?
“I’ve been riding since I was about five years old. One day my dad was like ‘hey I got this new thing that I want you to come ride with me. So I did.”

What kind of four wheeler do you have?
“It’s a green Yamaha. We had one before but it got taken away because the cops said it was stolen. My dad’s workers brought it over because they said a customer didn’t want it. So I don’t know if it was stolen or not.”

How fast do you go?
“I like to go as fast as I can. The fastest I’ve ever gone is like fifty because we only have five acres of land.”

Have you ever wrecked your four wheeler?
“ One time. Me and my step sister ran into a tree. We weren’t hurt. She got a few bruises and I got stickers in my feet because I wasn’t wearing any shoes and she wouldn’t give me a piggy back ride back to the house”

How much do you ride?
“I ride really often. If it’s not everyday then it’s every weekend. That’s all there is to do at my dad’s house.”

Do your friends ride your four wheelers?
“I take a lot of my friends. I let them drive and go really fast. They have a lot of fun too. I’m a sharer.”

Do you ride your four wheelers in competitions?
“ It would be cool to race but I’ve never really thought about it because there are a lot of more daring people than me.”
