Marcus Fricks, 12, and Carlon Eggins, 11, rejoice after defeating Waxahachie with a 45-33 score at the game on Oct. 14.

Senior Kendall Catalon catches the snap, turns to his left, hands the ball off to senior Kameron Sessions stomach who then makes a defender miss and sprints into the end zone on a six-yard run.

With a 3-1 record in the district so far and a 5-2 record in games overall, the varsity football team aims high and looks for nothing less than playoffs this year, only needing to win one more game to clinch a spot.

On Oct. 14, the Broncos took on the Waxahachie Indians and ended their undefeated season in a big way. It was the first game of the year the Indians did not score at least 40 points, and the Broncos returned home with their heads held high after a 45-33 win.

“It was just another game for my teammates and I,” Session said. “We all prepared really well.”

The Broncos are tied for second place in District 10-5A with Lake Ridge behind Lancaster in first.

“I feel confident that we will make the playoffs,” Session said. “But we know this is a tough district and we have to earn every win.”

Legacy will take on Lake Ridge Oct. 21 at Vernon Newsom Stadium for their annual Pink Out game. The October game is followed by Legacy’s annual Pink Fest event the next day, Oct. 22. At the Pink Out game, fans dress in all pink and people donate toward breast cancer to help find a cure.
