Junior Cody Thompson can say one thing no other Legacy student can, he’s made $300 juggling flower sticks in a single day. Thompson’s unique talent has taken him across the nation, performing at shows as well as on the street, mostly because he simply enjoys doing it.
“It’s definitely about entertaining myself,” Thompson said. “I’m still having fun with it after 10 years of juggling.”
Thompson honed his skills while growing up amongst other Renaissance Faire performers. He always feels that he could learn new tricks and life lessons.
“Not that I don’t think I can do it,” Thompson said. “But I have yet to juggle chainsaws.”
Thompson recently traveled to Denver and performed with his flower sticks on a mile and a half long road filled with street performers. Standing out amongst the other jugglers was a matter of being more exciting than the others.
“You just have to make sure you have a more impressive show than the guy next to you,” Thompson said.
Although Thomson has seemingly mastered the art of juggling flower sticks, he maintains that he can never stop learning.
“My main goal is to keep learning. It’s the core foundry I’ve based my life upon,” Thompson said. “It’s like a futile goal for some people to keep going up to the top of this never ending pyramid but not for me.”
Thompson feels there’s nothing else he would rather do with his life.
“If I had one day to spend my life doing anything I wanted,” Thompson said. “I would probably still be doing the same thing.”
