Peyton Pimlott acts for Improv

Having a blast, being crazy and acting silly: these are just some of the things that happen in improv. Sophomore Peyton Pimlott auditioned to be a part of the improv group this year and has loved it ever since.

Q: What is improv?
A: Improv is acting without a script. You go out there to make jokes with the situations that come up and have a good time. It’s not a class but it’s a club and they put on a few shows every year.

Q: What do you like about improv?
A: It’s a lot of fun. You get to act crazy and nobody cares because everyone is there doing the same thing, being silly and trying to make jokes that sometimes don’t work out. The people are also really nice and accepting of new people. They make you feel welcomed.

Q: Does improv club see each other out of school?
A: We don’t really hangout out of school, everyone kind of just does their own thing. After shows, if it was successful, we will go out to eat to celebrate.

Q: Are you glad that you went out for improv this year?
A: Yes, I’m very glad that I went out for improv this year because it has opened me up to a whole new group of people and opened me up by getting me out of my comfort zone. And of course I have lots of fun.

Q: Would you recommend improv to others?
A: I would recommend improv to others if they are okay with getting up on stage in front of a bunch of people and acting crazy and making a fool of yourself. If you are shy and can’t get out of your comfort zone I would not audition for improv.
