Open House will be held on Feb. 1 from 5:30-7:00 pm.

Open House: the annual showcase of all that a school does. But who really wants to go to school when you could be at home, the weight room, with your friends or almost anywhere else? We have compiled a list of reasons that could change your mind about attending this event.

New Teachers
New semester, new teachers. Open House allows you to get to know the teacher whose class you just moved into. Plus, who knows? They may not be THAT boring.

Confused Parents
Let’s face it, our parents have no idea what we are doing at school. All they have is their “centuries old” picture of high school, so why not bring them and show them (some of) what we do/have to go through every day.

Extra Credit
Come on now: why would you work harder, go to bed earlier or actually ask for help in the hard class when you could just do the extra credit? Extra credit is given at teachers discretion, so ask around!

Free Food
This one’s a no brainer. Offer their empty wallets a break and their empty stomachs some food. And if you’re lucky enough to have Ms. Bordelon or Ms. McDonald, and you like food, we’ll see you there.

Represent
What’s a better way to represent your club or organization than to have every member show up to Open House? Not only do you get bragging rights, but it’s a great way to raise awareness for your association.
