Review: Twisty Place Donuts

With the fresh smell of bakery goods outside of the building, I walk into Twisty Place, a new doughnut shop across the street, and the woman behind the counter greets me with a smile.

“Good morning,” she said. “What would you like today?”

The incredible niceness of the employees outweighs the average tasting food. Once I held the orange-sized doughnuts in hand, I took a bite through the very fluffy middle reminding me of that signature doughnut hole taste. Covered in a thin, sweet chocolate glaze, I chowed down on the not-so-warm food. Unlike most doughnut places I’ve been to, Twisty Place has the perfect amount of glaze, so definitely check the place out.

The shop itself has dated-looking, orange and yellow walls. They have cushioned chairs you’d see in a mexican restaurant and a Chinese cat statue. Twisty Place has that cute, doughnut-shop vibe like any other place. Ironically, I saw a basket of apples placed on the countertop — I guess they want to offer something healthy.

The overall experience seemed to be average, so I’m rating it 6/10.

It’s not my favorite place, but I don’t hate it either. Like I said, the people were incredibly nice, so I may go back in the future. Twisty Place hasn’t been open for long, so maybe they just need some more experience. Don’t rule out Twisty Place just yet. Go try the food for yourself and see what you think.
