Katherine Powell reviews Cane Rosso in Fort Worth, Texas.

On the weekends, students often go out to Fort Worth or Dallas to restaurants, shops or museums. I love going downtown because there are so many more restaurants and places to go than there are in Mansfield. Cane Rosso, an authentic pizza place located in the Fort Worth area.

Even though Cane Rosso has been open for a few years, not enough people know about it. Cane Rosso has multiple locations in the DFW area, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Fairview and Carollton. I have been to the locations in Fort Worth and the Deep Ellum area in Dallas. One of my favorite parts about this restaurant would have to be the atmosphere. When you walk in, you can smell the pizza and hear people laughing and enjoying themselves.

As someone who used to live in Italy, I can assure you this pizza ranks number one for its authenticity. Since Cane Rosso’s food holds true to Neapolitan style, it differs from typical American pizza. The menu is mostly pizza, but it also includes plenty of appetizers, salads, pasta and calzones.

The Menu
The menu differs from location to location, but since the Fort Worth location remains the closest, here is the menu for it.

Appetizers
Salumi Misti- This consists of meat, fresh mozzarella, some spices and the mouth watering bread, that you can only find at Cane Rosso.
Mozzarella Fritta- The Italian way of saying mozzarella sticks, except at Cane Rosso these mozzarella sticks taste better than any greasy sticks at a sports bar.

Salad
Mista- Ordering a salad isn’t necessary, but if you’re wanting to balance the pizza with a salad, I highly recommend the Mista. Filled with fresh greens, grape tomatoes and parmesan cheese, this salad will leave you feeling healthy right before you scarf down five pieces of delicious pizza.

Pizza
The moment you taste Cane Rosso’s pizza will be the moment your life changes, okay maybe it’s not that dramatic, but the pizza is the best I’ve had in the states.
Regina Margherita- My personal favorite, the regina margherita, consists of basil, fresh mozzarella di bufala, which makes it so edible. I can eat the whole thing because it tastes so good.
Emma- If you like meat on your pizza this might just be the one for you. It contains sausage and can be a tad spicy, but nothing too much to handle.

Next time you’re in Fort Worth or Dallas, go to Cane Rosso for an authentic experience that they can only offer. You won’t regret it.
