MISD Hosts College Night at Legacy

MISD will host College night at Legacy High on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Admission officers, representatives, military branches and employers set up booths and tables for the upperclassmen in attendance.

“College night gives student the opportunity to sell themselves and narrow their college choices. This gives students all the information on a possible college they may attend,” Counselor Vonda Nunley said.

Students who attend college night receive financial aid and application information.

“If you don’t come, you’re missing out an opportunity that is very important,” Ms. Nunley said.

Ms. Nunley wants students to look professional, without necessarily wearing a suit and tie.

“I always say first impressions are important, if you show up unprofessional, then the recruiters may think you aren’t prepared,” Ms. Nunley said.

Senior Armando Lopez believes he was lucky to attend college night last year.

“It helped me find a career and which college I could attend. It shortened my list of potential colleges and I applied for financial aide,” Lopez said.

I think it’s dumb to have this on a Wednesday.
Teachers are giving extra credit but a lot of students cannot go because they have church.
    Bad planning, good event.
