My Role Model, Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has made her way to be one of the most well-known artists today. Whether you like her or not, you know at least one of her songs that constantly plays on the radio. She has just wrapped up her 1989 World Tour and just released her tour live on Apple Music on Dec. 20, 2015.

I have loved Taylor Swift since I was 8, when I bought her first album and listened to it everyday. When I was 10 I saw Swift on her Love Story Tour, I remember bursting into tears when I got the tickets for Christmas. I got tickets again when I was 13 to see her on her Red Tour, I couldn’t believe I was seeing my favorite artist again. She was amazing live, she was energetic, entertaining and she acted like she was having a casual conversation with everybody in the crowd.

I always felt like her music was there for me. That might sound cliche or stupid to some people but I don’t think it does. I think every girl can relate to her music, because every girl has had at least one experience that Taylor writes about. Taylor writes about her life experiences as a young women, from heartbreak to romance to bullying. I love her music because her lyrics can be so raw and passionate. The song “All Too Well” talks about heartbreak and the memories of a past relationship. In the song she says “You call me up again just to break me like a promise. So casually cruel in the name of being honest.” Those lyrics give me chills every time I hear them.

I have also always seen Taylor as a role model. Taylor gives back so much to charity. She invited fans to her house to listen to the 1989 album for the first time. She also speaks out about feminism and she believes women should always support other women. Taylor can be criticized for only writing about her relationships with her boyfriends, but I don’t see the problem in writing about that. Taylor turned 26 years old this year, so of course she will write about her relationships.

Taylor has accomplished so much in the music industry, she has won seven Grammys, has sold out hundreds of shows and has sold millions of albums. Whether you like her or not you can’t deny her incredible success and passion.
