How long have you been dancing?
“I began my dancing experience at A Step In Time when I was two years old.”

How did you become a dancer? Who or what inspired you?
“My mom was a dancer in college, so she put me in dance when I was young.”

How has dance impacted your life?
“Being an officer has been nothing but a blessing for me. It taught me how to take charge and be a leader. I have developed a love for leading and helping others which I am so thankful for.”

Prior to becoming captain, you were Jv captain and a Jr. Lt. How did those positions help prepare you to be captain?
“They both taught me different things. Being a captain really helped me gain confidence and learn how to adapt to different types of dancers. It gave me a chance to teach girls who, for the most part, knew nothing about dance, and I turned them into a Grand Champion team. Being a Jr. Lt. helped me become closer with the team. I love spending time with my squad and communicating with the team about how they feel and what I could do differently.”

What do you expect out of the 2016-2017 season?
“I hope that the next team really bonds and we put forth the best routines of our ability. I want them to find the love for the team like I had for the last couple of years and that we become a family. My goal for the team is not only winning Grand Champion but more importantly, make memories. I want them to work hard but still experience it as a whole.”

What does being an officer on the tenth line mean to you?
“Being on the tenth line means this is our tenth year anniversary of the Silver Spurs. I am so excited and blessed to lead this line because we are making an effort to honor our past alumni. I will be able to connect with the people that helped build the organization.”
