Growing up, I was always told to take time and appreciate the things going on around me, because time flies. Like other kids, I always ignored that until I came to Legacy. I blink…and I’m freshman. I blink again, and I am getting ready to walk the stage. As I walk across the stage, I will think of all the memories I’ve made over the years, and those thoughts will turn to the new memories I can’t wait to make.

High school has been a great experience and one that I will look back on and smile. I have so many memories from football games, classes and other activities I participated in. I’m sad that this is the end, but I am happy that I can look back on high school with no regrets. I went to many football games where I made so many memories, and nothing will ever replace the feeling of being on the field with all the players under the bright lights. I went off campus with my friends and feeling like a rebel for breaking the rules, but then wasted gas because a song would come on and we would jam out. Memories like that are what I will remember and smile about when I’m further down the road.

I am ready for the next chapter of my life, and I’m ready to see what I can do and who I can become. College is completely different and very daunting at times, but I’m ready for a new challenge. I am going to Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma and will be majoring in political science. Oklahoma is only 3 hours away, and I am so excited to make it my new home.

Senior year is the year that everyone looks forward to, but many people overlook how bittersweet this year truly is. It’s a year of lasts. As in: it’s my last football game, my last choir concert and my last time at the school I have grown to love. But at last, I must leave.

I can’t wait to see what college has in store for me.
